MemberWing vs. WishList

by Daniel on November 2, 2010

I’m frequently asked what I think the best membership platform is for building a new membership websites. While there are a lot of factors that come in to play, it’s easy for me to say MemberWing is at the top.

That’s not because it’s the only one I’ve used. Quite the opposite is true. I’ve actually contributed financial integrations back to three membership plugins and I’m familiar with how they’re structured from this inside (including WishList). The most typical response I hear back is “Well, isn’t WishList really good”.

The reason I think most people say this is that WishList has been the most successful at getting the word out and they’ve taken a lot of market share. They aren’t necessarily a loser, but they just aren’t as flexible, simple or powerful as MemberWing.

Top 6 Reasons to choose MemberWing

If you’re still on the fence watch this video and I think you’ll see pretty clearly why MemberWing should be your choice for new membership websites.

Having just refunded my Wishlist membership and bought the full monty Memberwing package I have to say Memberwing is way ahead of WLM….not to mention the personal and professional service of Gleb. Wishlist customer service certainly was good but dealing with Gleb is better !

Golfguru, I couldn’t agree more. Gleb is great and his software is quite a bit farther along than WLM. I obviously use the unlimited license too.

This is without a doubt the most biased review of a product I bumped into. I know that you’re Gleb’s business partner but that doesn’t give you the right to mislead people. You deliberately hide many features in which Wishlist totally outclasses Memberwing. If you’re really honest I’m sure you’ll agreed with me when I say Wishlist is extremely easy to use, has world class supports, and thousands times more intuitive to use than Memberwing. Memberwing’s panel is ugly looking and far than user friendly to say the least. Its support is almost non existence compared to Wishlist since Gleb’s doing it alone by himself. I am not 100% happy with Wishlist but it’s without a doubt the best overall WP membership plugin out there. It’s definitely not flawless but again that doesn’t give you any right to write a dishonest review. There’s ethic even in business.

Mathias,

I respect your feedback about my review. It’s entirely possible that features in both have changed since I created this video, but I still very much prefer MemberWing.

It’s fine if you disagree with my review or prefer WishList over MemberWing, but I think it’s going a bit far to suggest that my review is ‘dishonest’. I’ve developed software and even contributed to the development of both WishList and MemberWing (mostly financial integrations and API enhancements). I have a bit of a relationship on each side.

If you choose WishList and it meets your needs then stick with it.
