Integrate an autoresponder with your membership website

by Daniel on August 25, 2010

One of the most powerful tools available to internet marketers today is an autoresponder. Many marketers understand that in order to make a sale, they have to first build a relationship with the prospect. The same goes for retaining customers on a monthly subscription.

Setting up the autoresponder integration within your membership website couldn’t be easier. It really only takes a couple of minutes.

However, using it correctly is another story. The single biggest mistake that marketers make when it comes to using autoresponder technology is segmentation. You’ll see exactly what I mean near the end of the video. Be sure not to gloss over it, or you might just be passing up some significant revenue.

What about office auto pilot? that is my auto responder.

Daniel November 1, 2010 at 12:53 pm

Duane,

Right now it doesn’t support office auto pilot. Put in a ticket and we’ll see what we can do to add it in.

Hi Daniel,

What to do with the optin crusher? Do this integrate with memberwing? In the video I understand only how it is done for different subscriptions.

Daniel December 11, 2010 at 7:51 am

Hi Henrik,

Yes, you use optincrusher, but it serves a different purpose than the integration I cover here. I many cases (probably most cases) it’s beneficial to engage someone in a conversation before attempting to sell them something. The optincrusher is a great way to offer someone something of value in exchange for a chance to talk to them. Then you use an autoresponder sequence to build trust. At some point in that autoresponder sequence (maybe even throughout it), you invite them to purchase something. If they do then you move them from your prospect list to your buyers list. This training shows you how to do that.

Thank you – But if I do not have a product with optin crusher what do I fille out inside member wing as product name “gold” “silver” etc. hope you understand. I suppose I have understood it correct that the once you go through in your movie are the once with the words used for paypal buttons.

It would be interesting to hear your opinion regarding which auto responder you feel is best. I’m currently torn as Mailchimp offers a cheaper initial outlay with up to 2000 contacts (12000 emails / month for free) but at the higher amounts is more expensive than Aweber. I’m sure there are other things to consider but I wouldn’t have a clue as to what they are till it’s too late. From your video it felt like you prefer Aweber.

I use aweber and I’ve been happy with them. They regularly add new features and have always been reliable. If you’re short on cash, mailchimp might be a good place to start. I’ve not heard any bad about them. I’m not sure there’s a clear winner in the space, which is good because all the real competitors are forced to innovate…

Daniel, how about 1ShoppingCart’s autoresponder, good enough?
Thanks!

Lanzo,

I think that 1shoppingcart’s autoresponder will work fine.

Thanks Daniel!

Hey Daniel,

Just joined. Great stuff. Real quick… I have a free tier and use Mailchimp. I created a free list and a gold list and set everything up according to your video. Now, if I use the standard {{{*}}} in Memberwing for free content will it send people to my free auto responder list or do I need to create a free tier subscription in Paypal?

Daniel May 31, 2011 at 12:08 pm

You’ll need to manage optin separate from registration if you’re doing a free registration.

There are also invitations and free content funnel that you could follow, but the free content funnel only applies to aweber and that’s been broken due to a change aweber made recently. I plan to eventually rework the free content funnel.

Hi Daniel,

You showed how to move from one list to another in Aweber and 1shoppingcart.

However, you haven’t showed how to do it on Mailchimp. Would you please explain how to move from one list to another on Mailchimp?

Thank you

I don’t have enough experience with mailchimp to advise you on that. Perhaps they have a help section that would take you through it…
